DAWN PENNY

Dawn Penny is an indigenous woman from Labrador who enjoys teaching her crafts to others through lessons and workshops. She particularly enjoys working with birch and sealskin and recently had her work displayed at the Labrador Expo. Dawn has been welcomed by the Dragonfly Moon community, with some of her jewelry added to the Empowerment box.
Dawn says the privilege of growing up with many crafty talented people, including her mother and grandparents inspired her to do many of the crafts she continues to make today. As part of her practice, Dawn also gathers many of the materials included in her art, from her modern resin jewelry to traditional birch bark roses
